Let me remind you of something important:
Surface relationships are fragmented energy.
They’re built on quick moments, shallow exposure, and incomplete truths.
In a world full of filters, captions, and curated stories, it’s easy to mistake visibility for value.
But I’ve learned through experience — favor with people doesn’t come from hype, it comes from trust.
And trust is built through honor, consistency, and quiet character, not public applause.
Some people appear to have it all together — but I’ve sat with them.
Preachers. Influencers. Celebrities.
Some have asked me for money.
One even asked my mom — a widow with a small congregation — for a loan.
Again, I’m not judging. I’m far from perfect.
But I’m talking about those who spend more time perfecting their outer image than cultivating their inner life.
Who you are should be who you are on stage, off stage, online, and in private.
“You’re hopeless… Frauds! You’re like manicured grave plots, grass clipped and the flowers bright, but six feet down it’s all rotting bones and worm-eaten flesh.”
Matthew 23:27, MSG
Harsh? Maybe.
True? Absolutely.
If you want to go deeper in life, business, ministry, or relationships —
stop evaluating people based on surface knowledge.
“God made my life complete when I placed all the pieces before him. When I cleaned up my act, He gave me a fresh start.”
Psalm 18:20, MSG
If you want to walk in real favor, walk with real people —
Some people are in private pain while living on public praise.
Some relationships are nothing more than recycled energy with no spiritual weight.
Don’t idolize the illusion.
“The world of the generous gets larger and larger; the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller.”
Proverbs 11:24, MSG
“A sound mind makes for a robust body, but runaway emotions corrode the bones.”
Proverbs 14:30, MSG
Let God develop you from the inside out, and let your relationships reflect that same depth.
Favor flows through authenticity, not aesthetics.
A well-known preacher and his wife once asked my mom — a widow with a small, loyal church — for a loan.
I was shocked.
Not because asking for help is wrong, but because of how much energy people spend trying to look like they have it all together.
That moment humbled me. It showed me that many in the spotlight are silently struggling behind the scenes.
And it reminded me that we must value character over charisma, substance over style.
There was a young man I once mentored.
Charismatic, gifted, magnetic — he knew how to move a room.
But he had no discipline, no covering, and no consistency.
He ran from accountability. He rejected correction.
Years later, after things publicly fell apart, he called me crying.
“Everyone who hyped me up disappeared. I thought my gift was enough… but I never built the character to sustain the call.”
He had built a public platform with no private foundation.
And when it all collapsed, only truth remained.
Gifts will get you in the room.
But only character will keep you there.
Years ago, there was a young woman in our church.
No title. No spotlight. No need for attention.
But behind the scenes?
She was helping single moms, paying utility bills, organizing food drives, praying with people after service.
One day, someone asked:
“Why do you trust her with so much?”
I smiled and said:
“Because she never asked for attention — she just showed up with consistency, honor, and a pure heart.”
She had no platform, but she had weight.
In a world obsessed with being seen, she chose to be solid.
You don’t need a massive platform to carry favor.
You don’t need perfect branding to have power.
What you need is depth, alignment, and integrity — both inwardly and outwardly.
“Become wise by walking with the wise; hang out with fools and watch your life fall to pieces.”
Proverbs 13:20, MSG
Lead with truth. Love with wisdom. Walk in real integrity.
